  1. Research, Literature Reviews, and Remote Sensing
Taiga's exploration success stems from its distinctive integrated program of pre-field archival research, literature reviews and remote sensing/air photo interpretation. Drawing heavily on the resources of the various research institutes in the Calgary area, government databases, assessment reports and our own files, a clear understanding of a prospect's exploration history, geological setting and potential can be assessed.
Taiga uses regional air photo studies, satellite imagery interpretations, and morpho-structural studies to identify potential targets in its pre-field compilation work. Detailed stereoscopic examinations of aerial photographs are used to enhance our knowledge of regional structural and stratigraphic trends. Satellite imagery interpretation helps to more precisely define regional structural and alteration trends.
The information derived from this approach provides the basis for specific, better designed and more cost effective field exploration programs.

  2. Foreign Office Establishment
In recent years, the company has set up foreign offices for our clients in cities as varied as Bamako, Mali; Tirana, Albania; Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and Yangon, Myanmar. Duties include hiring competent local staff, acquiring legal representation, renting business offices and residences, constructing exploration camps, establishing bank accounts, acquiring vehicles and other necessary exploration equipment as well as interfacing with local governments.

  3. Logistics
Taiga has considerable experience in logistical planning for large- and small-scale programs in remote areas with minimal infrastructure. This has also involved managing the importing and exporting of exploration and other equipment, in countries where the rules are often ambiguous and challenging.
