- Prospecting
Taiga uses conventional prospecting as an integral part of its mineral exploration programs. Under the direction of the project geologist, teams of experienced prospectors are deployed to locate mineralized occurrences. This has proven to be cost effective in locating mineral occurrences and focusing attention on
areas that require trenching and
detailed geological mapping along
with geochemical and geophysical
surveys.
- Geological Mapping
Property specific geological mapping consists of measurement and sampling of stratigraphic sections, acquisition of structural and metamorphic data, and detailed interpretation. Taiga geologists have experience in undertaking underground, detailed grid, and regional reconnaissance mapping. This mapping is
enhanced by our ability to integrate
available geophysical data into a
comprehensive interpretation of the
underlying geology.
- Geochemical Surveys
Taiga has completed numerous geochemical surveys including lake-sediment, water, stream silt, bio-geochemical, bulk till, soil, saprolite, and lithogeochemical sampling. Materials derived from these surveys are analyzed under Taiga's direction at accredited commercial laboratories by utilizing the most appropriate analytical technique. This information is then interpreted in the context of the geology and
geophysical responses
to define specific areas of potential
mineralization.
- Geophysical Surveys
Taiga employs ground geophysical surveys - including magnetic, electromagnetic, radiometric techniques - to aid in mapping the subsurface geology.
Taiga arranges subcontracts for airborne and sophisticated ground geophysical surveys. Our organization maintains a close association with several groups of highly competent consulting geophysicists who can offer advanced interpretation and
specialized computer data treatment.
- RTK Differential Surveying, Gridding, and Line-cutting
Taiga has undertaken RTK (Real Time Kinematic) differential surveys for location control of drill holes and othersurface features. Taiga has also supervised line-cutting and grid emplacement for the control of geophysical, geochemical and geological surveys on a contract basis.
-
Drill Program Supervision
Taiga has managed numerous drilling programs including oriented core and overburden sampling programs. These projects, which have employed diamond, reverse circulation and RAB rigs, have been managed from the negotiation of contracts through drilling supervision, to the presentation of assay results and
lithological
logs in an evaluation report.
